Performing a PCA (principal component analysis) of the spectra is a very common approach for identifying the most significant effects of studies. The figure shows for compound A the scores plot of the PCA of control animals and pre-dosed samples, low-dosed samples and high-dosed samples. The most significant effect, which can be seen, is an adaptation of the animals before dosing (green arrow). No effect related to dosing can be seen. Therefore compound A seems to be clean in terms of metabolic profiles.
